Alaska Highway

Today, May 10, 2022, I started the drive on the Alaska Highway starting at mile marker ZERO at Dawson's creek. It is a very interesting road. I saw three wrecks today: two big trucks and one pickup. One of the trucks was jack-knifed, the other was just laid over on it's side. The pickup was rolled over.

This was the roll over semi truck.

This morning before I took off driving I dropped into Walmart (probably the last one I'll see for awhile) The main thing on my list was a can opener.  Yes, I bought a bunch of canned food and have no way of opening them! The other thing on my list was beer. Well they don't sell beer in Walmart in Canada, guess I should have done better homework. While walking around Walmart I noticed they have street signs and directions posted on the floor.

I'm not real sure if they had rent a cop to give out tickets if I went the wrong way! I stayed in the proper traffic pattern.

After driving an hour I pulled over to walk Sis (she doesn't get up too early) and pump out the last of my jet fuel.

The truck ran great on the 15 year old jet fuel.

The snow was deep, up to Sis's belly. she played like a puppy for over an hour!

Look close you can see her running down the road.

Sis also went out on the ice. I tried to video (she fell about 10 times on the ice, even with 4 legs) but I was too late. And yes I got my phone out to video instead of helping her.

That's ice in my airhorn. I wonder if I honk would I have a bullet?

Northern Canadian Rockies.

Sis with her head out the window being a puppy again.

Tonight we are in Fort Nelson, Canada. This is my last town before Skagway. It's Skagway or bust from here. I'm filling the truck up with fuel and beer and going for it! I'm going to break it up into two days so I might not be able to post until Skagway.
